Texas Children’s Pediatrics expands footprint in Austin and College Station

Texas Children’s Pediatrics continued to expand its footprint in 2019 opening three new practices in Austin and its first practice in College Station.

In Austin, Texas Children's Pediatrics opened Texas Children’s Longhorn Pediatrics, Texas Children's Pediatrics Dawson & Ramirez Pediatrics and Texas Children’s Pediatrics JoAnne Wise Edoka MD.

"I'm excited to welcome these practices, as well as their amazing teams, to our Texas Children’s Pediatrics family," Kay Tittle, president of Texas Children's Pediatrics, said. "We know the value pediatricians bring to the community. They are more than doctors – they are partners in your child's health."

In 2018, Texas Children’s expanded outside of the Houston area opening its first primary care site in the Austin community. Texas Children’s Pediatrics, the nation’s largest pediatric primary care network, currently has five practices in Austin, all of which provide full-service care for children including, among other offerings, prenatal counseling; newborn and infant care; well and sick child visits; immunizations; and hearing and vision screenings; as well as camp, school and sports physicals. Building upon its 20- plus years of experience working with community pediatricians, Texas Children’s Pediatrics continues to partner with existing pediatric primary care practices in the region.

Currently, Texas Children’s Pediatrics locations in Austin include:

College Station

On January 11, the organization’s expansion made its way to College Station when University Pediatric Association became the first Texas Children’s location in the city. This marked yet another milestone in Texas Children’s path toward creating a network of quality pediatric care for children and families throughout the state of Texas.

“I am looking forward to helping our community go to the next level of pediatric care,” Dr. Scott Schams said. “I did my residency at Texas Children’s over 20 years ago, and I have always wanted to be a part of Texas Children’s Pediatrics. I feel like I am coming back home. To be a part of the premier children’s institution is a privilege and honor.”

Texas Children's Pediatrics University Pediatric Association has seven board certified physicians, two nurse practitioners, and a host of other employees dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of infants to teenagers.

“This is the largest practice that we will have acquired in a long time,” Tittle said. “We are very excited about moving into a new city and providing quality primary pediatric care to children and their families in the College Station area.”
